Amia B. Heggins

Amia graduated from University of North Texas in Denton, Texas where she majored in Criminal Justice. Amia began her career as a Juvenile Probation Officer with Dallas County Juvenile Department and later transitioned as a Legal Assistant focusing exclusively in Family Law and ran the day-to-day operations of a licensed adoption agency in Dallas, Texas.
Amia joined Gaydos Duffer in 2019 as its Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Coordinator, and brings over 20 years of experience focusing primarily on family formation. Amia’s knowledge and expertise is invaluable since she is the main point of contact for families beginning their adoption or surrogacy journeys. As a parent herself, she offers compassion and dedication to helping families achieve their goals of building a family.
Amia is very active in her community and with her sorority Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. where she has chaired numerous committees and serves as member of the Executive Committee. She is married to Steve and has two French Mastiffs. Amia and Steve have two adult children, Logan and Madison. Amia is an avid sports fan and enjoys watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Dallas Mavericks. Go Steeler Nation!
